How to Link Multiple Values to an Existing Group

You might want to group certain Values together. For example, you may wish to link years of study 1, 2, 3, and 4 to separate groups, then link 5 and above to another. To do this, ensure you:

  • Create the new group in your University organisation or within an existing Data Parameter Group.
  • Set the group's Type as Membership or Data Parameter Value Group.

You can access this feature from your MSL Admin site. Only Super Admins with Membership Admins or Site Admins permissions can access the Group Mappings window.

For further information, see Set Up Parameters.

  1. Log in to your MSL Admin site at https://[domainname]/msl/. The Home menu is displayed.
  2. From the Home menu, select University Data. The University Data submenu is displayed.
  3. From the University Data submenu, select Set Up Parameters. The Set Up Parameters window is displayed.
  4. Next to the relevant parameter, click Set Up Group Links (). The Group Mappings window is displayed.
  5. Click + Add Link to Existing Group. The Link an Existing Group dialog is displayed.
  6. From the Value dropdown, select an option.
  7. From the Group dropdown, select the group you want to link the Value to.
  8. Click Add. You are returned to the Group Mappings window, where the Value is linked to the existing group.
