How to Withdraw a Candidate

You can access this feature from your MSL website. Only Content Editors with access to Elections Admin can access the Candidate List window.

If a Candidate is Withdrawn once votes have been cast, any votes for that candidate will be transferred to subsequent preferences. If there is no next preference, the vote becomes an abstention. No votes are lost, and the preference order is preserved.

Candidates can Withdraw their candidacy themselves on the Nominations page until the end of the Nominations Period unless the Withdrawal checkbox is selected on the Edit Post window.

For further information, see Election Candidates.
