How to Manually Add a Candidate

You can access this feature from your MSL website. Only Content Editors with access to Elections Admin can access the Elections Admin window. 

Eligibility checks are not performed when manually adding candidates. You will need to ensure that the candidate meets any applicable requirements.

To manually add a candidate, the nominations period must have either started, or finished. You cannot add a candidate before the nominations period begins.

  1. Log in to your MSL website.
  2. From the Admin dropdown, select Elections Admin. The Elections Admin window is displayed.
  3. From the list of Elections, select the relevant election. The Edit Election Details window is displayed.

  4. Click Candidates. The Candidate Admin window is displayed.

  5. In the Review Candidates section, select the relevant post. The Candidate List window is displayed.

  6. In the Add Candidate section, in the Select Candidate search box, enter the Person ID, Card Number, or Name of the candidate and click Find Person. A matching user or list of users is displayed.

  7. Next to the relevant candidate, click Select. The Candidate window is displayed.

  8. In the Details section, complete the Display Name field, and click Create Profile. A confirmation message is displayed.

  9. In the Nomination Status section, complete the remaining fields, and from the Status dropdown, select another option, if relevant.

  10. Click Submit Nomination. A confirmation message is displayed, and the candidate is added to the candidate list.
