How to Change a Group's Type

You can access this feature from the MSL Admin site. Only Super Admins with Site Admins permissions can change a Group's Type.

Before proceeding, changing a Group's Type can affect if and where it is displayed on your MSL website.

You can change a Group's Type, but only if the current parent organisation's grouping type allows it. If not, move the group to a different parent organisation, or adjust the parent organisation's grouping type's allowed child types, if required.

  1. Log in to your MSL Admin site at https://[domainname]/msl/. The Home menu is displayed.

  2. From the Home menu, select Groups. The Groups submenu is displayed.

  3. In the Search for groups section, either:
    1. Enter the Group Name or Group ID. Click Search. A list of Groups is displayed.
    2. Filter using one or more of the fields:
      • From the Organisation dropdowns, select an option
      • From the Membership dropdowns, select an option
  4. Click to select the relevant Group. The Group’s configuration menu is displayed.
  5. From the Group’s configuration menu, select Details. The Group’s details are displayed.
  6. Click Change Type. The Select New Type and Category dialog is displayed.
  7. From the Type dropdown, select an option.
  8. From the Category dropdown, select an option.
  9. Click Change Type. You are returned to the Details window, and a confirmation message is displayed.
