Linking StudentLink and Website Content

While your MSL website and StudentLink app offer two distinct ways for your members to engage with your organisation, both pull information such as your events, elections and news articles from your MSL System. This allows you to create deep links on your MSL website (and elsewhere) that take your members to the relevant content item in-app. It also lets you display content that only appears on web pages in-app. Both approaches create a smoother transition between in-app and web-based content.

In the StudentLink or StudentLink+ apps, you can tailor your home screen and menus to suit your preferences. However, sometimes you might want to integrate certain web pages from your  MSL website into your StudentLink or StudentLink+ app so your members aren't taken to the web browser to view certain content items. You achieve this by creating a news article and configuring it to redirect to the desired web page. By adding this redirecting news article as a content item within your StudentLink app, you can ensure that your members can access and read the web page while staying within the app. For further information, see How to Link a Content Item to a Web Page.

Deep linking is when you use a hyperlink to direct your users to a specific content item within the StudentLink app. It allows users to bypass the app's home screen and land directly on the relevant content or feature they are interested in. Perfect for directing your members to vote in an election or buy tickets for a popular event.
