How to Add a New Article

You can access this feature from your MSL website. Only Content Editors with access to News Admin or Organisation Admins with permissions to submit, edit or approve news can access the Add News window.

  1. Log in to your MSL website.
  2. From the Admin dropdown, select News Admin. The Select Organisation window is displayed.
  3. From the list of Organisations, select the relevant Organisation. The organisation’s News Admin window is displayed.
  4. Click Add New Article. The Add News window is displayed.
  5. In the Article section, in the Title field, enter a headline for the Article.
  6. If required, update the Byline field.
  7. Complete the Leader field, if required.
  8. In the Display section, in the Display Period field, click the Calendar icon () and from the date picker, update the date. Optionally, remove the end date and time.
  9. If required, select the Show in Archive checkbox.
  10. From the View Permission dropdown, select an option.
  11. In the Options section, select or deselect the following checkboxes as required:
    • Allow Comments
    • Enable Sharing
    • Enable Ratings
  12. In the Tags section, optionally add a tag, or multiple tags, either one per line or comma-separated. 
  13. In the Image section, if required, upload an image. Once uploaded, further fields are available:
    • From the Thumbnail Resizing dropdown, select an option.
    • Complete the following fields, if required:
      • Alternate Text
      • Image Caption
  14. In the Body section, either:
    1. Enter any relevant text and use the editor toolbar to format your text, add images, videos, and links etc.
    2. In the URL of Alternate Web Page field, enter a URL, either for a page on your MSL website or an external website URL.
  15. In the Approval section, deselect the This Article is Approved checkbox, if required.
  16. Click Save. You are returned to the News Admin window.
