How to Set an Item for All Unassigned Items

You can access this feature from your MSL Admin site. Only Super Admins with Membership Admins or Site Admins permissions can access Organisation Member Groups and Set Up Parameter Groups.

How to Set an Item for All Unassigned Organisation Membership Group Values


  1. Log in to your MSL Admin site at https://[domainname]/msl/. The Home menu is displayed.
  2. From the Home menu, select System Setup. The System Setup submenu is displayed.
  3. Select Organisation Membership Groups. The Organisation Membership Groups window, with a list of any existing Groups, is displayed.
  4. Click the relevant Group's Name linkfield. The Edit Group window is displayed.
  5. In the Items section, click Add New Item. The Edit Item dialog is displayed.
  6. In the Item Name field, enter the name that will be used for any values that haven't been assigned a specific item.
  7. Select the This Item Includes All Unassigned Values checkbox.
  8. Click Save. You are returned to the Edit Group window.
  9. In the Values section, alongside any relevant Organisations, click Link To An Existing Item (). The Select Item for '[Value Name]' dialog is displayed.
  10. From the Item dropdown, select your newly created item.
  11. Click Save. You are returned to the Edit Group window. Repeat these steps for any other unassigned values.


How to Set an Item for All Unassigned Parameter Group Values


  1. Log in to your MSL Admin site at https://[domainname]/msl/. The Home menu is displayed.
  2. From the Home menu, select University Data. The University Data submenu is displayed.
  3. Select Set Up Parameter Groups. The Set Up Parameter Groups window, with a list of any existing Parameter Groups, is displayed.
  4. Click the relevant Group's Name linkfield. The Edit Group Items window is displayed.
  5. In the Items section, click Add New Item. The Edit Item dialog is displayed.
  6. In the Name field, enter the name that will be used for any values that haven't been assigned a specific item.
  7. Select the This Item Includes All Unassigned Values checkbox.
  8. Click Save. You are returned to the Edit Group Items window.
  9. In the Values section, alongside any relevant Data Parameter Values, click Link To An Existing Item (). The Select Item for Value [Value Name] dialog is displayed.
  10. From the Item dropdown, select your newly created item.
  11. Click Save. You are returned to the Edit Group Items window. Repeat these steps for any other unassigned values.
