How to Edit a Data Parameter

You can access this feature from your MSL System Admin site. Only Super Admins with Membership Admins or Site Admins permissions can access the Set Up Parameters window.


Avoid selecting the Create Groups checkbox for Parameters like course name and course code unless absolutely necessary for an Academic Representation setup. This helps prevent unnecessary clutter in your system.

  1. Log in to your MSL System Admin site at https://[domainname]/msl/. The Home menu is displayed.
  2. From the Home menu, select University Data. The University Data submenu is displayed.
  3. From the University Data submenu, select Set Up Parameters. The Set Up Parameters window is displayed.
  4. If required, select the Show Unused Parameters checkbox, then select the relevant Parameter from the Parameter Name column. The Edit Parameter dialog is displayed.
  5. If required, update the entry in the following fields:
    • Description
    • Notes
  6. If required, select or deselect the following checkboxes:
    • Import Values
    • Create Groups
    • Display on Demographic Reports
  7. Click Save. You are returned to the Set Up Parameters window.
