Voting Settings

Ballot Rubric Text appears above the candidates or motions on each ballot page. The text should contain instructions explaining how to vote for the selected post or motion. You can set the text per device type (Website, Polling Station, and StudentLink app) to accommodate the differences in the ballot windows.


You must check and update your Ballot Rubric Text so it's easy for your members to understand how to participate in your elections and referenda.

You can access this feature from your MSL System Admin site. Only Super Admins with Site Admins permissions can access the Voting Settings windows.

Election Default Ballot Rubric Fields

This table lists and explains the fields on the Election Default Ballot Rubric window.


Field NameDefinition
Website (Default)
Content added to this text field is displayed at the top of the ballot page for all posts on newly created elections unless overridden by the Ballot Rubric text specified per election or post.
The Ballot Rubric content should contain instructions for the voter about how they cast their vote on the Website.
This field supports HTML.
Polling app (Polling Station)
Content added to this text field is displayed at the top of the ballot page for all posts on newly created elections unless overridden by the Ballot Rubric text specified per election or post.
The Ballot Rubric content should contain instructions for the voter about how they cast their vote on the Polling Station.
This field supports HTML.
Mobile app (StudentLink)
Content added to this text field is displayed at the top of the ballot page for all posts on newly created elections unless overridden by the Ballot Rubric text specified per election or post.
The Ballot Rubric content should contain instructions for the voter about how they cast their vote on the StudentLink app.
