How to Reset a Person's Website Account Password

You can access this feature from your MSL System Admin site. Only Super Admins with Membership Admins or Site Admins permissions can access the Website Account window.


The password reset option is for an account type with MSL login credentials, not for external SSO login credentials, which requires resetting through the University or other parent institution's website or portal.


Users can reset their password if their account is linked to an email address. Ensure the Login widget has the Show Forgotten Password link enabled.

  1. Log in to your MSL System Admin site at https://[domainname]/msl/. The Home menu is displayed.
  2. From the Home menu, select People. The People submenu is displayed.
  3. In the Search for People section, in the search box, enter the relevant Person ID, Card Number, Name or Email Address and click Search. A matching user or list of users is displayed.
  4. Click on the name of the relevant Person. The Person menu is displayed.
  5. Click Website. The Website Account window is displayed, showing any User Accounts.
  6. Click Reset Password. The Password Reset dialog is displayed.
  7. Complete the New Password and Confirm Password fields.
  8. Click OK. You are returned to the Website Account window and a confirmation message is displayed.
